History
The Berry Building was built as a wholesale grocery store and warehouse for grocer L.W. Berry, close to the railroad and the other warehouses of what is now the North Village Arts District.
After Berry's death the building was sold, and for decades it was used mainly for storage, with occasional retail tenants.
The Project
Our 2009 renovation kept the building's warehouse character. Its many windows now bring natural light inside, and the original post-and-beam structure stays exposed.
New storefronts line Walnut Street, a restaurant space opens onto a patio facing Orr Street, and the top floor was divided into 12 loft apartments.
